Young Single Mom Diagnosed w/ Cancer
A little over a year ago I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and just a couple months ago I've completed my radiation treatment following my thyroidectomy. It has been a really long year to say the least, but I haven't been in this alone. My daughter who will turn 2 in January has felt every bit of my stress along the way. And this is why i want to make christmas this year really special for her. It's just me and her this year, her dad walked out on me just before starting radiation and things have been really rough since than. I had to drop out of cosmetology college [in which i was almost finished with] and now have a $3000 bill I must pay before ever returning. I've been seeking employment, which I'm feeling hopeful for since it's the holidays, but sustaining no income at this point in time just really isn't an option for us any longer. We haven't even been living paycheck to paycheck, since we only get $200 a month in child support. It barely pays for her diapers, wipes and food.
Currently I have several bills that are over-due [last months rent, cable, power and insurance], along with my new rent due in a couple of days. And while I should be stressing a bit over this, all I can think of is finding a way to make christmas special. So I'm seeking donations towards my holidays. If you want to send me money for bills and rent also I would be beyond grateful, but I would be really happy just being able to get a few small gifts for my daughter.
My full body CT Scan came back with some alarming results showing over places in my body the cancer had spread and I'm praying we can just make it through the holidays in once piece without me falling apart. I don't have any family near by to ask anything of, so it's just me doing all of it & I would be so very grateful to even receive just a couple of dollars for some groceries.
I have never been in trouble with the law & have been in 2 abusive relationships already, my hope is to show my daughter that you dont need to rely on a man who treats you badly just so you don't have to live in the poor house- but currently I'm not doing so well proving that to be true.
